  5. Intercultural, Intergeneration LyricaliTea Party!

    October 11, 2022, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

All are invited to an Intercultural, Intergenerational LyricaliTea Party! The theme, “After Hardship There is Ease” will show us how Lyricality Circles are bringing people together to find strength for our journeys through hardships to the ease that comes after. Central Minnesota poets who are 1st-generation Somali immigrant elders, 1.5-2nd generation Somali-Americans, and Whitney Senior Center members will share their artful words, introduce important questions about who we want to be to each other, then guide a community dialogue designed to help us embrace diversity with appreciation for other backgrounds, cultures, and races. Come and help us build bridges with compassion and tolerance. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Central MN Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. We will take a 15-minute break at the appropriate prayer time.
