What special programs are available?

Some property owners may qualify for a special program that may lower the yearly property taxes. Some of the programs are listed below. Contact your local Assessor's Office here for more information regarding these programs and how to apply.

Green Acres:

  • A tax deferral program allowing farm properties to be valued using an agricultural value instead of the estimated market value.

Rural Preserve:

  • Provides property tax relief to taxpayers with eligible rural vacant land that is part of a farm, by allowing the property to be valued at an agricultural value.

Senior Citizens' Property Tax Deferral:

  • You can defer on a portion of the property taxes you owe if you are 65 years old or older or your household income is $60,000 or less.
