[ARCHIVED] RSVP volunteers commit 7,107 hours of volunteer work to community schools during the 2015-2016 year

Last school year, 235 RSVP volunteers served 7,107 hours in our community schools. Alice Gombos, is a RSVP volunteer who served nearly 200 hours last school year in the kindergarten classrooms at Foley Elementary listening to students read, count, practice site words and much more! “Grandma Alice” as the students adoringly call her, stated “it is so wonderful working with the kids; there are a lot of fun things that happen at school each day.” Alice reminisces about the memorable events that happen throughout each school year and jokes about how kids truly do say the funniest things. Alice exclaimed “That’s kids though! You just never know what they’re going to say or do. Whatever is on their minds comes out of their little mouths. I love working with them.” RSVP would like to thank the passionate and dedicated volunteers that serve within our schools. Visit our “RSVP in Action” website at http://ci.stcloud.mn.us/234/RSVP-in-Action to read Alice’s full story!
