Severe Weather Awareness Week 2023 Schedule: April 17th - April 21st
Are you ready for severe weather? Severe Weather Awareness Week (SWAW) in Minnesota is designed to refresh, remind and educate everyone about the seasonal threats from severe weather and how to avoid them. It's also a great time to make and practice your emergency plan and build or refresh your emergency preparedness kit.
2023 Schedule:
Monday(17th): Alerts and Warnings
Tuesday(18th): Severe Storms with a Focus on: Thunderstorms & Lightning
Wednesday(19th): Floods
Thursday(20th): Tornadoes & Tornado Safety with the Statewide Tornado Drills
On Thursday, April 20th, the State of Minnesota will be participating in two tornado drills, the first sounding at 1:45 pm and the second sounding at 6:45 pm. Please consider participating and getting family, friends and coworkers to participate with you!
Friday(21st): Extreme Heat & Heat Safety
