The State Fair Eco Experience is Going Virtual!

St. Cloud is sharing our sustainability story with the Minnesota GreenStep program. We can’t gather in person at the Eco Experience building at the State Fair, but we can share our community sustainability highlights and celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Minnesota GreenStep program virtually with other cities throughout Minnesota.

From 2016 to 2019, St. Cloud has grown from 0% to almost 70% of the energy used to provide City services being produced from renewable sources. Through energy efficiency efforts, onsite solar production at city facilities, community solar garden subscriptions, and onsite biofuel production; St. Cloud is creating a diverse array of sustainable energy solutions.

The City also focuses on sustainability with their water quality projects. St. Cloud residents can learn more about the efforts to improve water quality at Lake George. Community members can also visit St. Cloud rain gardens or stormwater ponds (virtually or in person) to learn more about water quality improvements.

Learn about how we are utilizing this energy, providing community education opportunities, and continuing to improve our community through the community highlight story, and through our St. Cloud Public Utilities website. You can learn more about our renewable energy program results here
