The City of St Cloud will be hosting a free Open House highlighting the Nutrient Recovery and Reuse (NR2) Project.
An overview and tour of the project will be provided, followed by a light lunch.
The NR2 Open House is on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.
The event will take place at St. Cloud Nutrient, Energy & Water Recovery Facility (Wastewater Treatment Facility) located at 525 60th Street South, St. Cloud.
Learn about how St. Cloud is a national leader in converting waste or “used water” to energy and fertilizer components.
This project is partially funded by the Clean Water Revolving Fund program and the project received a $6.6 million-dollar Clean Water Legacy Act Grant.
The project benefits include; increased energy recovery and production resulting in maintaining low rates for our customers, enhanced beneficial bio-fertilizer reuse, a reduction of capital costs using existing infrastructure and preservation of the Mississippi River.
