Long Term Projects
The City of St. Cloud currently maintains 90 parks and miles and miles of trails for the enjoyment of our citizens and visitors. If your organization, church or business is looking for a long term project, consider adopting one of our city’s many parks or trails!

Adopt A Park / Trail Volunteer Duties
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
  • Cleaning picnic tables
  • Graffiti/Vandalism reporting
  • Mowing
  • Mulching trees / shrubs
  • Restocking doggie bags
  • Some use of power tools
  • Sweeping shelters
  • Trash pickup
  • Weeding / raking playgrounds
Adopters can also help with special projects, such as graffiti cover up, painting projects, and planting flowers. Some projects and tasks are not available year-round and may be available only at specific parks.

Adopt a Park / Trail Policy

  • All volunteers (individuals or a representative) must complete the Adopt a Park Application and Group / Organization / Event Waiver and Release of Liability and submit the form to the Park and Recreation Business Office.
  • The adopting organization or individual commits to a pre-determined period of adoption.
  • Volunteers under the age of 18 must have adequate adult supervision.
  • Monitoring of the park should be done on a regular basis, usually at least once a month or more often during the warm season and as weather permits in the cold season. Some sites may require additional time commitments.
  • Total number of Volunteers and Hours must be reported to the Business Office monthly.
  • The adopting organization or individual will report any conditions or potential hazards to the Park & Recreation Department.
  • Shorts and open toe shoes are not allowed.
  • Unless special arrangements are made, Park and Recreation Staff will not be available on-site for your volunteer project. In case of an emergency, please call 911.
  • Proper tools will be provided for your project. Use of personal power tools/ladders, etc. is prohibited without prior approval.
  • The City of St. Cloud will provide trash bags and will be responsible for collecting and disposing of the filled bags. Notification of bags to be collected needs to occur by the next business day.
  • Accidents/injuries occurring during your event need to be reported to the Business office by the next business day.
