The unique Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility (ISELF) at St. Cloud State University provides businesses with access to state-of-the-art facilities including a visualization lab, imaging center, and rapid prototyping laboratory.  The University is also home to the National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance and part of the CyberCorps Scholarship for Service program.  In the past two years the University output in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance has doubled.

St. Cloud based GeoComm, developed a 911 system that provides 3D mapping tools for inside buildings.  Created in conjunction with St. Cloud State University, using the ISELF lab, the new technology was used in Minneapolis during Super Bowl LII.
