Charlotte Strei
Coordinator: Sherburne County Office
I have had the pleasure of serving as RSVP Coordinator in Sherburne County since 1990. Prior to coming to RSVP, I was the Volunteer Coordinator and Assistant Activity Director at Westwood Care Center in St. Louis Park, Minnesota for 5 years. My educational background is in Business Management and Hospital Administration from Moorhead State University and Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in 1984. My family roots are in Holdingford, Minnesota, just northwest of St. Cloud.
The willingness and generosity of RSVP volunteers is a daily inspiration for my work. It is a joy not only to find a volunteer to meet a need in the community, but an even greater joy when a volunteer reports the rewards they themselves are receiving from their service. That is my goal as a member of the RSVP staff – to make the “perfect match” between the volunteer and the agency that needs their help.
I also try to keep abreast of any emerging community needs where RSVP volunteers can be of service. I do this by attending various community meetings and serve on a number of agency advisory councils.
In addition to being RSVP Coordinator, I also answer volunteer information inquiries from community members of all ages on behalf of The Volunteer Bridge. The Volunteer Bridge is an alliance of volunteer leaders from organizations in the Sherburne County area who wish to promote volunteerism in the community and make it as easy as possible to become involved as a volunteer.
