Future Projects

Every year the City adopts a Capital Improvements Program to identify potential future projects.


Current Projects - 2014

The following projects have been ordered by the City Council to be accomplished in 2014:

T.H. 15 and 33rd Street South Interchange - A new interchange will be constructed at the intersection of T.H. 15 and 33rd Street South. Hoffman Construction is the general contractor for the project.

33rd Street South and Frontage Road Improvements - Project includes expanding 33rd Street South to a 4-lane divided roadway between CSAH 75 and Southway Drive.  A new east-west frontage road (Germany Street) will also be constructed from the existing frontage road along CSAH 75 to Southway Drive, including a north-south extenion to 33rd Street South (Spalt Avenue).  In addition, the following will be accomplished: 

  • Roundabout at the intersection of 33rd Street South and Southway Drive.
  • Right and left turn lanes on eastbound 33rd Street South at CSAH 75.
  • Bituminous trail on the north side of 33rd Street South from CSAH 75 to 350 feet west of Southway Drive.
  • Concrete sidewalk on the south side of 33rd Street South from CSAH 75 to 350 feet west of Southway Drive.   


Seberger Area Neighborhood Improvements
 - Project includes reconstruction of streets, sidewalks, alleys, sanitary sewer, water main and storm drain in the area between Cooper Avenue North and 25th Avenue North from Division Street (T.H. 23) to Cooper Avenue North.  The project has been divided into five areas.  Four areas of the project will be constructed in 2014 and the last area will be constructed in 2015.
Area A - Between 21st and 25th Avenue North from 3rd Street North to Cooper Avenue North.

Area B - Between Cooper Avenue North and 21st Avenue North from 3rd Street North to Cooper Avenue North.

Area C - Between Cooper Avenue North and 21st Avenue North from Division Street to 3rd Street North.

Clearwater Road Realignment
- Project includes realigning Clearwater Road at Heatherwood Road. Sanitary sewer and water main utilities will be installed along the new alignment. In addition, a bituminous trail will be constructed on the north side of the roadway, and a concrete sidewalk will be constructed on the south side of the new roadway.

 
Current Projects - 2015

The following projects have been ordered by the City Council to be accomplished in 2015:

Seberger Area Neighborhood Improvements - Area E - Project includes reconstruction of streets, sidewalks, alleys, sanitary sewer, water main and storm drain in the area between 21st and 25th Avenue North from Division Street (T.H. 23) to 3rd Street North.

Raymond Avenue N.E. Area Improvements - Project includes reconstruction of streets, sidewalks, alleys, sanitary sewer, water main and storm drain in the area bounded by Wilson Avenue N.E. on the west, Searle Street N.E. on the north and the BNSF Railroad Tracks on the east and south.  

22nd Street South Improvements - Project includes reconstruction of street, water main and storm drain on 22nd Street South from 300' west of Quarry Road to Oak Grove Road.  Sidewalk will be installed on the north side of 22nd Street South from Quarry Road to Oak Grove Road.  In conjunction with the project, 22nd Street South from Oak Grove Road to Shannon Drive will be overlaid.

Special Assessments 

The City levies Special Assessments for public improvement projects.
