Department Goals
To protect and serve, preservation of life, working together with community members to solve problems, prevent crime, apprehend criminals, recover and return stolen property and facilitate the safe and expeditious movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. There are four major areas of emphasis with the St. Cloud Police Department:
- Creating a safe environment in the downtown area for citizens to conduct business affairs and to visit.
- Creating a safe environment in the south side area.
- Working with the retail businesses in decreasing crimes in and around their premises.
- Working to decrease vehicle crashes on public property, particularly those that result in injury and/or death.

Additionally, members of the department developed a list of three tentative goals the organization should achieve in the next calendar year, as well as short term milestones for meeting those goals. We invite the interested members of the public to provide some meaningful input in helping us to shape and develop these goals and the milestones needed to make them happen.
