Our Mission

The Park Division will maintain and preserve the City's Public Parks & Trails System to meet the need of our residents for a safe and clean park environment. They will respond to our community's concerns and desires to provide maintenance services within resources available

Goals

To provide the highest quality and dependable maintenance services

1. Communicate between staff clear quality of maintenance expectations.
2. Provide a workspace atmosphere that promotes creativity and innovation and allows for empowerment.
3. Keep staff trained and current in the park and forestry maintenance with access to adequate resources.
4. Review and evaluate input from customers and staff.

To attain and retain quality staff

1. Establish competitive hourly wages.
2. Evaluate how we promote job opportunities.
3. Reward creativity, customer service and initiative.
4. Develop volunteer and apprentice programs.

To develop a comprehensive marketing strategy

1. Allocate funding to allow for the hiring of staff to create, implement and maintain the strategy.
2. Consolidate program databases.
3. Develop a web-based registration process.
4. Be proactive to seek out NEW patrons.

To provide first class recreational facilities

1. Be aggressive as it pertains to facility improvements and development.
2. Allocate funding for additional staff to maintain facilities.
3. Evaluate community needs and wants as they pertain to new facilities.
4. Actively pursue additional funding resources.
5. Increase communication and awareness among interdepartmental staffs within the City structure.
