	the economic impact of the arts In 2001, St. Cloud was one of 91 communities across the nation who participated in Arts and Economic Prosperity: The Economic Impact of Nonprofit Arts Organizations and Their Audiences, a study commissioned by Americans for the Arts with support from the American Express Foundation. The results of this study illustrate that the non-profit arts industry in St. Cloud generates $9,824,787 in local economic activity annually. In addition to this, the non-profit arts industry contributes $731,000 in State Government Revenue and $259,000 in Local Government Revenue. The results of this study illustrate that the arts mean business for the St. Cloud community. The St. Cloud Arts Commission completed this survey in partnership with United Arts of Central Minnesota. Recently, Minnesota Citizens for the Arts, along with the Minnesota Regional Arts Councils, completed a similar economic impact study using the same methodology from Americans for the Arts. The results of this regional analysis of the economic impact of the arts in Minnesota is available from Minnesota Citizens for the Arts.
