Tadpole Swim Lessons

With splash pads, water parks, indoor facilities and lakes located all over the State of Minnesota, it is important for children to learn how to swim. What better way to help you introduce your child to swimming than visiting one of our wading pools - or, even better, sign your child up for Tadpole Swim Lessons! Tadpole Swim Lessons are designed for children ages 3-5 years with little or no water experience.

Participants will have fun getting their heads, shoulders, knees and toes wet by kicking, scooping and splashing in our wading pools. During this class, children will also learn water readiness skills including floating, blowing bubbles and bobs. The goal of Tadpole Swim Lessons is to teach children the necessary skills to become more comfortable in and around water and to prepare them for a safe water experience.

The great thing about Tadpole Swim Lessons is that it really helps your child feel comfortable in the water; with the zero depth entry, they learn how to enter and exit the pool safely. They are also able to learn how to balance in the water with or without a life jacket.

All Tadpole classes are 25 minutes long and meet Tuesday through Friday, for one week, during the months of June, July, and August; make-up day due to cancellations will be held on the following Monday. Please listen to WJON or call 529-6584 for news on cancellations. Register for Tadpoles online at or contact us at 257-5959.
