An expansion project for the River’s Edge Convention Center consisting of a 400 stall Parking Ramp will be constructed on the west side of the facility. The square footage of the ramp will be 155,040. Crews began construction November 16, 2015 and will be erecting the parking facility over 5th Avenue North, which will remain closed between St. Germain and 1st Street North during the build. Parking customers that currently use the Timber Lot or the Convention Center Surface Lot will be displaced during the ramp construction. A traffic plan showing detours will be posted to guide motorists throughout the downtown during the construction.

HOW LONG WILL CONSTRUCTION RESTRICT PARKING IN THE 5TH AVENUE AREA?
The construction project began November 16, 2015 and will last approximately 10-12 months. 5th Avenue will be closed for the duration of construction; however, detours have been posted.
HOW WILL CONSTRUCTION IMPACT ME?
Parking customers that utilize the Timber Lot or Convention Center West Lot will have to park in alternative locations. Please click on the map for other parking options available.
WHEN WILL 5TH AVENUE OPEN? 5th Avenue is tentatively scheduled to open in October of 2016 Subject to favorable weather conditions.
WHERE WILL DISPLACED EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS PARK? In order to assure that prime on-street parking remains available for downtown customers, accommodations have been made in the River’s Edge Convention Center Parking Ramp for displaced employee and contractor parking of the 500 Block. Affected businesses are asked to contact the Finance Department for more details.
